Eligible riders are age 4 and up.
We serve any disability. Commonly our riders have Autism, Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay, PTSD, Anxiety disorders, Sensory Processing, and lots more. Call for more information.
Age 5 is minimum age for independent volunteering. Children under 14 can be accompanied by an adult and volunteer at times when lessons are not actively being held.
Age 5 is the minimum age for independent volunteering. 5 to 14. Children between the ages of 10–13 can volunteer with an accompanying adult during times when lessons are not in session.
Children may begin volunteering at age 5 with an accompanying adult.
Ages 10–13 may volunteer with an adult only when lessons are not in session.
Age 14 and above may volunteer independently.
Yes, we offer training to help you become a valuable volunteer. You just need to be eager to learn and willing to be outside with the horses. If you are not able to help in the lessons then you can help with office work, marketing, or fundraising.
Lesson pricing is by 6-week session, payable at the beginning of each session, $420.
Private lessons are billed at $125/hr.
Yes, we encourage a trial ride to see if the activities will likely be enjoyed and tolerated by participants with higher sensory responses.
Yes, Loving Thunder is the only New Mexico Premiere Accredited Center through PATH, INTL (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship).
All instructors are Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors (CTRI) through PATH, INTL.
All Volunteers are trained by our staff to assist in lessons.
